Dragonslay3r94 Reviews – Everyday Life With Monster Girls (NSFW Review)

Now Monster Musune or Everyday Life With Monster Girls was a pretty unique show and by unique I mean this show was just 100% ecchi overload and perverted humor…..hey don’t judge me, I was bored so I read the manga one day and enjoyed it anyway moving on from how I know of Monster Musune here is the review.

Everyday Life With Monster Girls is the 12 episode anime adaption of the Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Okayado which has 8 volumes so far with a 9th in the works and the plot is pretty unique if I do say so myself and it sets it apart from other ecchi harem shows like Highschool DxD, Infinite Stratos and so on with the whole plot revolving around monster girls.

The plot goes like this, three years ago the world learned that harpies, centaurs, cat girls and all sorts of creatures are not merely fiction but in fact very real and thanks to something called the “Cultural Exchange Between Species Act,” these once-mythical creatures have assimilated into society, or at least try to and when a hapless human named Kurusu Kimihito is inducted as a “volunteer” into the government exchange program, his world is turned upside down when a Lamia (snake girl) shows up on his doorstep and it gets even crazier from that point on.

The monster girls of Everyday Life with Monster Girls; Miia (front), Centorea Shianus (second row left side), Papi (second row right side), Meroune Lorelei (third row left side), Suu (third row right side) and finally Rachnera Arachnera (back)

Now I love the characters in Everyday Life With Monster Girls, they are really unique and the show really does a good job at bringing the characters to life and I will go into them now starting with the show’s main and only male lead Kurusu Kimihito because he is perhaps the most easy to start with, he is a 100% ordinary character, there isn’t really anything remarkable about him however he is an honest and all around good guy that pretty much in my opinion a support character rather than a lead since the girls fill that role and I will go into them starting with Miia and so on.

Miia is pretty much the main harem girl and she is a lamia, a half human half snake girl and she is  the first girl to be placed with Kurusu as part of the Cultural Exchange Between Species Bill and after experiencing Kurusu’s kindness firsthand, she falls head over heels in love with him to the point of trying to seduce him at almost every opportunity or otherwise jealously coveting his attention often leading to fights with the other girls under his care but she is a really awesome and funny character because off this.

Papi is a ditzy Harpy and is the second girl in Kurusu’s “harem” and she’s childish, both physically and mentally despite being as old as Miia so she is pretty much like the group’s hyper active “little sister” in a manner of speaking, she is extremely forgetful and is well for the better term a bit bird brained but she has her moments and she is one of my personal favorite characters with the first being Rachnera but moving on.

Everyday life with Monster girls has a tonne of perverted but equally funny moments and if you are wondering about the sign around Suu's neck I will get to that in a minute

Everyday life with Monster girls has a tonne of perverted but equally funny moments and if you are wondering about the sign around Suu’s neck I will get to that in a minute

Centorea aka Cerea is the third monster girl under Kurusu’s care and well she is a centaur and she is a badass, she is a proud but level headed warrior chosen to represent the Centaur race and she is perhaps the most mature out of the cast considering Papi and Suu behave more like children than adults, she is very prim and proper and upholds knightly-cavalry codes of honor but she is easily flustered by even the lightest teasing and she sees Kurusu as her master.

Next up is Suu and she is a slime, well at least I think it’s a she but anyway she is the forth monster girl in his harem and she has a rather innocent, happy and sunny disposition and seems to be pretty friendly and while she does not have a malicious personality, she sometimes endangerd people’s lives by accidentally almost suffocating them with her own body and Suu gets along very well with Papi, since they are both childlike and they are frequently seen playing together.

Suu normally shapes herself to be about the same the size and build as Papi, but when she absorbs a certain amount of water, she chooses a more mature form: she becomes taller, bouncier, and curvier than usual. The excess water goes straight to her bust and hips. When dehydrated enough, she becomes small enough to fit into a small bucket

But she well read the sign, whenever any liquid is spilled onto one of the girls, Suu will instantly molest them to get the moisture and coincidentally, she knows where their weaknesses are located and will molest them there so yeah, Suu gets grabby when the girls get wet and no that was NOT a sex joke so minds out the gutters people.

Next up in this unusual harem is Meroune Lorelei and she is a mermaid bound to a wheelchair and she is the fifth girl to move in with him and well she is similar to Miia in some ways, she is quite regal and polite and Cerea senses an air of nobility around her, she like the other girls in Kurusu’s harem is in love with him but this is where it gets rather weird and dark….she is a fan of tragic romances and is a fan of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid, and wants to experience it in real life, even up the point of turning into sea foam leading to the other girls calling her “tragedy freak”.

Rachnera is the most openly perverted, and the one who enjoys (accidental) perversity on Kimhito's part the most obviously and Rachnera greatly enjoys bondage, getting a great kick from tying her victims up in her own webbing, both sexually and non-sexually and she is also a skilled Dominatrix and is rather obsessed with perfecting her bondage technique

And last but no least is my favorite character Rachnea who as you can tell by her name is a giant spider girl, eight eyes, legs and all and she is amazing because she reminds me of Akeno from Highschool DxD in a few ways but moving on, she is an Arachne and the sixth girl to move in with Kimihito since her original host family had sold her off to a sleazy business man who used her and her webbing to make money due to the fact that they were scared of her due to her appearance.

Rachnera is a cynical person at heart because of her original host family, she dislikes any form of dishonesty and like me would rather be confronted with the truth than be hurt with a lie, despite originally hating humans and Kimhito, she started changing her ways slightly after seeing that he genuinely wanted to help her and well she is the most level headed next the Cerea even though she is a bit lazy.

Moving on from the characters Everyday Life With Monster Girls copies the manga frame for frame with everything but I will start with the comedy part, Everyday Life With Monster Girls is technically a adult erotic manga but with this show you can’t really tell the difference when you compare it to other shows….here below is an example clip and I call this the infamous “ice cream and camera angles” scene so you can have a look and get a feel for the show.

And that is why you should never eat an ice lolly in public ladies and gentlemen but moving on, the above clip is one of many inappropriate but funny moments in the show and there are a tonne of references to other shows and things like Godzilla aka the King of Kaiju and Metal Gear Solid….yeah that Metal Gear Solid and it is awesome.

This show is not for kids but then again you could of easily noticed that from the above clip, however if you are not a fan of ecchi shows like this one and etc than the humor will get a bit tiresome and rather annoying but for someone like me who prefers a helping of ecchi and perverted humor now and then it is pretty damn funny especially when there are misunderstandings and double meanings but now on to other things or more accurately the voice and art work.

The voice work in Everyday Life With Monster Girls is amazing and there are quite a few familiar voices for example Miia is voiced excellently by Sora Amamiya who voices Akame from Akame Ga Kill, Elizabeth Liones from Nanatsu no Taizai and Princess Asseylum from Aldnoah.Zero.

Papi is voiced by Ari Ozawa who voiced Chiyo Sakura in Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun; Cerea is voiced by Natsuki Aikawa who voiced Petra from Attack on Titan, Suu is voiced by Mayuka Nomura, Mero is voiced by Haruka Yamazaki who voices Lilith Bristol in Absolute Duo and Aika Kiriyuu from Highschool DxD Born, Rachnea is voiced by Sakura Nakamura and finally Kimhito is voiced by Junji Majima who is Ryūji Takasu in one of my favorite shows….Toradora so you can expect the voice work to be good and just so we are clear….there is no English dub so it’s subtitles or bust.

Art is also done well like I stated earlier with not a thing out of place or one badly drawn frame, everything is bright and clear and there are no changes from the manga anywhere although there is a bit of steam flavored censoring during bathing bits but hey they are in a shower so that happens.

Now Everyday Life With Monster Girls has 12 episode with a run time of 24 minutes each so you can easily watch it over a weekend like I did and yeah just a word of advice, I would recommend headphones just in case someone walks in and goes “what the hell are you watching” because of Suu and the ice cream clip and before I forget there are also shorts which are on Anime Rush here.

One thing I would like to see is a MON Squad spinoff focusing on the Monsters New Law team, a special group of monsters that deal with other monsters since normal people can't, we have Manako who is a Cyclops (left), Dopple who is a a shape shifter (second left), Mrs Smith (center), Zombina who is well a zombie (right) and Tio who is an ogre (back)

Long story short Everyday Life With Monster Girls is a faithful adaptation that stays true to is source and I personally would LOVE to see a second season because in the manga Kimhito has to survive a visit from the girl’s mothers and so on which is incredibly funny along with other mishaps like a monster friendly spa and also being forced into marriage by Mrs Smith and a swearing Suu which is funny as hell.

And thats about it really, there isn’t really much else I can go into but before I go I should mention that both the opening theme and closing theme are well done, I even have the closing song on my Ipod so it’s pretty damn good if it is on there but now I am getting sidetracked…..if you liked this review then like this post, comment down below in the comments section and share with the hashtag #Slay3rNation because it really helps me out big time and with that I am out….oh and yeah here is a hint for my next review, Roanapur.
